Privacy Policy

Salience Analyzer is a Chrome extension built by delorme. ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our extension and related services.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Content you submit: text you paste or grab for analysis. This content is sent to our server, forwarded to Google Natural Language API for entity extraction, and returned to you. We do not store the content you analyze.
• Usage data: we log the type of action performed (analysis, comparison, page grab, screenshot) and a timestamp. We do not log the content itself.
• Billing information: if you purchase credits or a subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your credit card details.

How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the analysis service.
• To enforce usage limits and manage your account.
• To process payments through Stripe.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets).

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Google Natural Language API: the text you submit for analysis is sent to Google for entity extraction. Google's privacy policy applies to their processing.
• Stripe: payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies.
• Resend: transactional email delivery.

Data retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained indefinitely for analytics. You can request account deletion by contacting us.

Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS. We do not store the content you analyze.

Cookies

The extension uses Chrome's local storage to persist your authentication token. Our landing page does not use cookies or tracking scripts.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us at the address below.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
